An initiative of the Institute for Culture and Society at the University of Western Sydney, this occasional series of public seminars brings to Sydney high profile speakers to reflect upon pressing issues and challenges confronting today’s culture, politics and society.
The Sydney Seminar for Culture and Society is a key pillar of the Institute for Culture and Society’s public engagement activities. It aims to foster vibrant conversations about key community concerns and to contribute to the understanding and shaping of contemporary global change.
The inaugural seminar, Race and the Politics of Performance, was held at the State Library of New South Wales on December 2 2013.
Three seminars exploring pressing contemporary themes are planned for 2014.
